Congratulations Noah on winning the signed Liverpool shirt in our raffle.

Year 6 had a fantastic day at CHET on Friday. We were delighted to be able to go on our first school trip of the year. The children showed

exceptional behaviour as they participated in orienteering,

shelter building and the adventure course.

We had so much fun during Science Week,

which was a bit different this year, we hope you enjoy our slideshow.

Well done to Oliver Rixon who won our Ryan Ferguson award

What an amazing day at our ‘Strictly St Monica's’ talent show.

Well done to all who entered and to our winner Jolene Stirzaker-Porter.

Congratulations to Isabella Lord on becoming the

North West Schools Trampoline Champion,

good luck for the future Isabella.

St Monica’s children took part in the Bootle Children’s Literary Festival this year and all had the most wonderful experience. The Festival saw authors, poets and theatre groups visit schools, and the launch of a brand new literacy project and children’s bookshop opened in

The Strand Shopping Centre.

St Monica’s children were lucky to meet two renowned authors on the day, which inspired the children to read and spark their imaginations in order to create their own stories. Many of the children took part in a writing competition, which was judged by the two famous authors, and three of our St Monica’s children won! The winning stories were chosen to be published inside an anthology of short stories and have pride of place in The Strand bookshop and our school library. Well done to Ellis Mitchell, Emma Farley and Gabriella Moran for being St Monica’s own budding authors.

St Monica’s winning authors receiving their own copies of their published stories and signing books for all to read.

What a wonderful visit to the theatre to see The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The children enjoyed visiting the Kingsley and Co bookshop and meeting Daniel Riding, a children’s author, poet and artist.

St Monica’s children had a wonderful visit from Alan Gibbons, an award-winning author. He shared his stories and inspired the children to be creative.

We had so much fun today celebrating St Monica's Maths Day,

the children worked so hard on their hats!

Congratulations to our Ryan Ferguson Award winner Megan Boardman.

Well done Megan.
