Relationships and Sex Education
Dear Parent and Carers,
In line with the Department for Education Guidelines 2020 we are required to consult with you when developing and writing our policy for the new statutory Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE). Your comments and ideas are very important to us. We would appreciate if you could answer the questions below honestly and openly.
Please note the new RSHE curriculum has some changes. We will continue to use the recommended resource 'Journey in Love' (which has been recently updated to reflect the changes in the new DfE statutory guidance) to support this aspect of the curriculum. There will be elements of this taught through Science, PSHE, RE, British values and computing also.
As a Catholic school we must adhere to follow the guidance from the Catholic Education Service on behalf of the Bishops' of England and Wales and we are required to ensure that our teaching reflects our Catholic identity and mission and to be both stage and age appropriate for our pupils.
Once approved and ratified by the governing body, the new policy will be published on our school website.
