Year 5: Democracy in Action!
A huge well done to all our Year 5 candidates who took part in our School Council elections!
We were incredibly proud of the maturity and confidence shown by everyone who stood for election. Each candidate delivered a thoughtful and formal speech, clearly explaining their reasons for wanting to become a school councillor and sharing how they hoped to make a positive difference to our school community.
The children spoke with confidence, listened respectfully to one another and demonstrated excellent communication skills. It was wonderful to see them taking responsibility, sharing their ideas and showing a genuine desire to represent their classmates.
After listening to all the speeches, we put democracy into action by casting our votes for the candidates we felt would best represent our views and ideas.
Well done to everyone who took part! Standing up in front of others and sharing your thoughts takes courage, and every candidate should feel proud of their efforts. We look forward to seeing our newly elected school councillors represent their classmates and help make St Monica’s an even better place for everyone.
Every voice matters, and together we can make a difference!
