Merseyside Fire & Rescue Visit St Monica’s

We were delighted to welcome Merseyside Fire & Rescue to St Monica’s for an important safety assembly with our KS1 and KS2 pupils.

The session focused on staying safe around water, including what to do if we get into difficulty and practical tips to keep ourselves safe. Our pupils learned valuable life-saving advice in a fun and engaging way, helping them build confidence and awareness for everyday safety.

Road Safety Assembly with Merseyside Fire & Rescue

Our pupils enjoyed an engaging assembly with Merseyside Fire & Rescue all about staying safe on the roads.

During the session, the children learned important safety tips, including the key message: “Stop, Look, Listen, Think” before crossing the road. They also learned how to be aware of traffic and follow other practical rules to keep themselves safe.

School Council Elections at St Monica’s

Our Year 1 to Year 6 pupils recently took part in classroom elections to choose their class councillors.

Through the process, pupils listened carefully to each other’s speeches, considered their ideas, and voted democratically for their representative. This hands-on experience gave them a valuable understanding of democracy and the importance of having a voice in school decisions.

Whole School Supports Jeans for Genes Day

At St Monica’s, our whole school took part in Jeans for Genes Day! Pupils and staff wore their favourite jeans to school and raised money to support children living with genetic disorders.

Throughout the day, we explored the importance of the event, learning about genes and how genetic conditions can affect people’s lives. Our pupils also discussed ways we can help others and show compassion, reinforcing the values of empathy and community at the heart of St Monica’s.

It was a fantastic day of learning, fundraising, and coming together as a school to make a difference. 👖💙
