Year 6: Prayers and Poems for World Peace

Year 6 have been reflecting on the International Day of Peace, taking time to think about the importance of peace, kindness and unity in our world.

The children explored what peace means to them and considered how we can all play a part in creating a more peaceful world. Through thoughtful reflection, they wrote their own prayers and poems, sharing their hopes for a future filled with love, understanding and compassion.

Their writing explored important themes, including bringing an end to conflict, supporting those affected by war, respecting differences and helping people live together in harmony. It was wonderful to see the children express their thoughts and feelings so meaningfully, showing empathy for others and a genuine desire for a better world.

As a Catholic school, prayer is at the heart of our faith. This activity gave Year 6 a valuable opportunity to pray for peace across the world and reflect on how we can live out Jesus’ message of love, forgiveness and care for others in our everyday lives.

May our prayers bring hope, our words inspire kindness and our actions help build a more peaceful world for everyone.
