A warm welcome from the Reception team!
In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we focus on creating a nurturing, play-based environment where children feel safe, confident, and eager to explore. Through purposeful play, meaningful interactions, and carefully planned activities, your child will begin to develop the essential skills that lay the groundwork for lifelong learning.
Our classrooms are joyful, engaging spaces where curiosity is encouraged, friendships are formed, and every child is celebrated for who they are. From early literacy and maths, to imaginative play, creative expression, and outdoor exploration – each day is filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
At the heart of all we do are our school values: Faith, Aspiration, Resilience and Respect. We want every child to feel a strong sense of belonging and to develop a love of learning that will carry them through their school years.
We look forward to working closely with you throughout this important first year – supporting your child’s development, celebrating their achievements, and making Reception a happy and memorable start to their time at St Monica’s.
Here’s to a wonderful year in Reception!
PE day is on a Thursday.
