Zones of Regulation - Year 6
In our PSHE lesson, we learnt all about the Zones of Regulation. We learnt about what each zone was and the different emotions that we experience by being in each Zone. We talked about how it is important as we get older to learn strategies and techniques to regulate our own emotions and feelings to ensure that we are in a positive mindset ready for the day ahead. We discussed different ways that we could help ourselves and our classmates if we found ourselves in the blue, red or yellow zone. SD commented 'When I am in the red zone I listen to some music and this always helps me to relax and then I am back in the green zone'. AA found it beneficial to take some deep breaths when he finds himself in the red zone and this helps him to regulate his emotion. We came up with some great ways to help ourselves regulate our emotions.
