Kingsley & Co - Book Club

We were fortunate to have Kingsley & Co visit our school with their Book Club for the second year running. All children from Nursery to Year 6 attended the Book Club and left with a brand new book for only £1!

Katherine Rundell - Virtual Visit

Year 5 and 6 were inspired by author, Katherine Rundell. During the virtual workshop, Katherine spoke about what inspired her to become an author and shared her ideas and experiences as to how to write effective stories.

The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark

Year 2 were inspired by their text, The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, to meet their very own owls. The trip inspired the children and helped to bring the story to life.

Debate Day

During our debate day, Key Stage 1 debated the motion: the school day should be made longer, whereas Key Stage 2, debated the motion: plastic should be banned.

The children learned the importance of debating and how listening is an integral part to a successful debate. Children either represented the proposition or opposition and constructed arguments, backed by evidence, to support their argument.

Year 5 - Virtual visit from Jacqueline Wilson

Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their virtual visit with author, Jacqueline Wilson. They were all inspired by her writing career and enjoyed listening to some of the characters in her new book, Star of the Show.
